Chart anywhere for 175 bolt sizes/pitch?
« on: September 28, 2013, 05:44:11 PM »
Hello, I am looking for a chart or something that says what the bolt sizes are for a 175/200. I can't seem to find one on here. My next resort is going to the hardware store and checking everything I have.

Check out the 175 parts list. The part numbers for bolts all contain the size and  diameter. For instance, a bolt or screw  with part number ending "...0655" is a 6mm thread, 55 mm long.

As for pitches, all 5 mm threads are 0.9mm pitch; all 6mm threads are 1.0mm pitch,; all 8mm threads are 1.25mm pitch.

The 6mm and 8mm are the same pitch as modern bolts, but 5mm threads are coarser and modern 5mm bolts will not fit.

Hope that helps,

Graham

That narrows it down a lot thank you! I found out the big 12 mm foot peg bolts are like a weird pitch that I can't find. They only had the one pitch for 12mm every where I went yet the chart had a diff. pitch it fit in.

Hi, Duckman,

Yes there were some different pitches on 10mm and 12mm bolts, but I think Bridgestone used different pitches for each application on those.

Your best bet is to measure the pich on the old bolt if you have it (it'll probably be 1.25mm or 1.5mm) and then try a fastener specialist who deals with vehicle restorers, rather than a modern bolt supplier. There are several firms in the UK who supplu stainless steel, chromr or zinc nuts and bolts for classic/custom vehicle restorers. The one that springs to mind is "Custom Fasteners" who I've dealt with several times. Alternatively, try Richard - he may have the genuine article in stock.

Every screw or bolt you need is available on eBay U.K., even the correct 5mm ones.

ok, thank you, I ordered some stainless ones in the common sizes. I'll have to check out ebay uk for these tricky ones. I'm assuming I just type that in instead of .com
