Timing tool for 350?
« on: September 23, 2010, 08:21:57 PM »
Is there a part number for the tool used to set the timing on the 350 motor?  I remember a tool that screws into a hole on the front of the front of the engine with a small pin that drops into a recess in the flywheel at the "fire" position but I can't find the one I used to have, and I haven't seen anything that lists a part number.  Anyone know?

There is no part number it is part of the tool kit, located on the last page of the parts manual.  Richard has them for sale, and I think that there is some mention of them elsewhere in this blog, to include how to fabricate one.  I was desperate yesterday and used a finishing nail set with some success.  The bolt where the timing tool goes is located behind the left header on the crankcase of my 350 GTO.

You will need both 9236-8000 bolt and 9237-8000 bar that will work on the Bridgestone 350GTR.
Thanks.
