1969 TMX 100
« on: February 13, 2013, 01:59:13 PM »
Hi all.  New to this website, and to Bridgestones, but been involved with vintage bikes for a number of years.  I am going to an auction this weekend that has a 100% complete and straight 69 TMX 100.  It has good compression, and a bit of rust, but isn't banged up at all.  It has only 1,700 miles and has been stored in a barn for quite awhile.   It will be sold with the key and the title, and obviously will need carb and motor work, along with air filter cables, tires etc to get back to road worthy shape.

I understand that 69 was the first year for the TMX, can someone give me an idea of what a 69 in this condition typically goes for?

Welcome Eric.  :) What other vintage bikes do you deal with? It's difficult to place a typical value on one of these bikes especially with no photos, but there are probably some suitable comps in the classified section that might help you. If you don't already know, Richard Clark, owner of the site, has parts. Some of the other members can probably tell you what they have sold theirs for.  Good luck at the auction.

I have had several Hodaka's, and am now restoring an 81 Kawasaki KX 125 to ride some post-vintage mx this year.  I'm very impressed with this website and it's members. There is a lot of information here and obviously many knowledgeable owners to lean on.

I'd love to get my hands on the TMX this Saturday - hopefully I won't have to "duke it out" with a Bridgestone collector at the auction.  Everything appears to be intact and straight on the bike, and the fact that it comes with the title and the key is a plus.  Knowing that I can probably acquire needed parts is great comfort too.

I'll let you know what happens Saturday.
