KICK STARTER ARM.
« on: April 10, 2011, 10:38:29 PM »
Kick starter arm.
If you look in the parts book on the GTR the part number for the kick starter arm is 2680-9000 and the same for the GTO.
The only different is that the GTO has no grease nipple but my GTR has one, which is right.
Thanks.
Steve.
PS you would think that the GTO and the GTR would have the same kick start arm with a grease nipple etc.

I have 4 GTRs in various states of disrepair (almost snagged a fifth this week), one is missing the kick start lever, two don't have grease nipples, and the fourth (in a basket case) has the nipple. At this stage of the game, who knows if those levers where liberated from GTO's, or maybe something else happened?
I have a tilt wheel for more headroom!

My GTO doesnt have the grease nipple. Also a quick sorta related question, is the kick starter arm used for the right hand shift conversion different to the regular GTR/GTO arm?        John

Hi Steve,

Had a great time at the Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart concert over the weekend. Sheryl Crow even did a couple songs with Stevie. Back to the subject of the kicker arms. I think they may have all had it and maybe it was removed for the GTO for whatever reason. After checking 4 of mine the only one that had the fitting still in it was the NOS one. But if you notice they are only swaged into the hole and probably just fell out after a period of time. I kinda remember my new GTR's having fittings in them which would lead me to believe they probably fell out down the road. I changed my bikes out often enough that I probably did have them long enough for the fitting to get vibrated loose. Just my two cents worth.
Later Mike
P/S my cold is about gone but Kathy has it full bore.

Sounds like you had a good time at the concert!
The kick start arm i may have got it wrong .
The GTO did not have the grease nipple and the
GTR did, maybe it was a way on saving on cost

Thanks.
Steve.
