Good going   i too took out my new to me Taka 100 out for its first ride I had to remember that shift pattern too..... all 4 down and DON,T hit first going fourty.... did ride it a little hard... pulled the front wheel off the ground more that once it now has 819 miles on it....

I just ordered off of ebay the most expensive ignition key I've ever owned! Man I got to get into the key business.

We have an old shop here that makes keys. I'll take mine over and see what they say. Might be able to pick up one they for $4.00 we'll see and I'll let you guys know.

Ok my 60 Sport is done. New Crankcase seals, clutches, seat cover, cables lubed etc. Does about 45-50 mph on the flat. I am entered in the Moto Giro next weekend.... I feel the bikes ready, but am I? Wardie

Ok I ran the 2016 Moto Giro USA in the Catskills Mountains. I had maybe two miles of seat time but I managed the first day of 160 grueling and I mean grueling miles and made the check points with time to spare. When I finished the 8 hour run and came back to the motel to get off bike she was running at a very high idle. I checked for air leaks found none. I might mention that I seized the motor three times during the run. The mountains were hard and slow going up and fast and mean going down. Good thing I covered the clutch because the motor seized at 58 mph and locked rear wheel. I coast to a stop three times to let motor cool and she was fine each time. I increased from 40:1 to 32:1 and even with Amsoil Sabre the change to 32:1 to dramatic no more seizes but when I was going down the mountain and got near 45 + mph I pulled the clutch and coasted.

Anyways pulled the carb found dark strains in gas in float bowl. I switch out gas line filters and clean with carb cleaner and she started and ran fine then bogged again and stalled. I think the pilot circuit in carb body plugged. I used ultrasound cleaner and it worked great I'm afraid I 'll have to do that again. I felt I was in contention for Sunday but got a DNS for not making stating box at prescribed time. I'm going to test compression tonight and check against my parts manuals. Not sure what affect the three seizures have on the rings and cylinders? When she ran she ran well. I had new seals and other items installed about $1200. It was worth it bike ran good until the minute I parked her and no restart. Any mechanics out there??

I had an awesome time at the Giro and would encourage anyone to try it.
