R.I.P. Bert Slawson
« on: December 26, 2020, 06:52:05 PM »
It's with great sadness that I have to inform the group of the passing of my dear friend and fellow site member Bert Slawson. (slawsonb) While we never met in person, his numerous posts both informed and entertained me for quite a few years. He was also always more than willing to share with me his considerable knowledge about Bridgestones through our many phone and email conversations. I will dearly miss him! God speed Bert.

I am extremely sorry to hear of Bert's passing.
He was very active on the site when I joined in 2013, helping my restorations on many occasions. We seemed to share a common understanding of engineering and sense of humour. A rapport developed through posts and emails. He was noticeably less active on the site over recent years so I was pleased when he posted on the 18th Dec 2020 and this news of his passing comes as a shock.
Rest in peace Bert, you will be missed.

Unspoiled by progress.
I'm so glad I grew up in the 60s & 70s. I did so much stupid stuff and there's no record of it.............Anywhere !!

Definitely sad news. Bert was a great guy and filled with the type of smarts one gets from real life experiences. We swapped a number of emails on bikes as well as life in general.

That is very sad news. I too enjoyed the input and stories from Bert.
As I live on the north side of Phoenix I thought maybe someday I would get the opportunity to cross paths with him...
