Title: GTR Wiring Question
Post by: Kenneth Pagel on August 01, 2020, 02:14:03 PM
On my '67 GTR, there is a solid orange wire coming out of the LH handelbar switch, and same coming out of the main harness, and into the headlamp bowl. This wire is not shown on the GTR wiring diagram that I have. The harness is new from Richard. Maybe this wire is for the GTO?

Also, has anyone located a  source for the small rubber boots that cover the ignition coil terminals? The only ones I can find are way too big, and are not shown in the parts diagram. Thanks in advance!

The orange wire from the handle bar connects to the orange in the headlight bucket that comes out from the main harness. The other end of that wire exits out with the ignition switch wires in the middle of the main harness and goes to the horn.

Bridgestone didn't sell those rubber boots separately, they only came when purchasing the coils.  I found that Kawasaki had identical rubber boots as those on the Bridgestones, however they aren't  exactly affordable!

For the coil terminal boots, you might want to check out the claussstudios.com site for the Honda CB/CL 1960's pieces (H124-70B) at $16.00 per pair. They're a bit larger than the BS items, but fairly close and should function fine.

Hopefully the Clauss Studio parts fare better that the parts for the engine area, which melt with use. The coils are relatively cool, so maybe they'll be fine.

Karl. You are correct Clauss Studio's parts are pure crap.  Do not waste your money, the parts will fall apart in time, faster with any amount of heat, shame on them.
