Picked this bike up at Springfield swap meet back in August for $700 with a clear title it had brand new rings in it but it wouldn't shift through the gears so I split the cases and completely went through the motor and have put it all back together and am getting ready for a full restoration but it's a good start  their first picture is the day I got it and have been slowly assessing all these parts needed.

Welcome Jawman, good buy there as the parts if sold individually would be worth more than you paid for the bike.

Out of interest what was wrong that you couldn't go through the gears?

The previous owner had tore into the motor and didnt put new gaskets in it so he used an excessive amount of gasket sealer and it had dried up and got caught between the gears preventing it from shifting it woildnt allow the the gears to move as they needed to.

Are those the original rims? is the front fender, a Rickman piece?

I don't believe  that those are the originally rims but they are aluminum rims from that period of time I'm not sure about the front fender I have already purchased a originally front fender and the correct fork ears that hold the head light in place.  I'm glad to be on the forum I actually have a brother who is restoring a bs175 high pipe here's a picture of it

Welcome to the site. Looks like your brother has a head start on you, but he doesn't have a 6th gear. Nice Bronco behind the 175 also.

     Welcome to the Bridgestone addiction, it will get you in the end, it's contagious, likely you got it from your brother.

   Any BS that turns over and has it's carb covers is a good start for a resto. A few parts missing but should soon get those.

I'm not picking sides here and I NEVER try and stoke the fires of sibling rivalry (cough cough) but your brother has a clean looking 175DT AND a sweet looking Bronco. He must be the younger brother.

Haha yeah he has a super nice bridgestone but that bronco doesn't actually belong to him it's my father's bronco which has a small block 302 ci out of a 1994 mustang in it but me and my brother both have broncos as well I guess you could say my dad has fueled out habits for motorcycles and vehicles. But with all of that saI'd I'm not entirely new to vintage motorcycles here's a honda ct70 that I restored a while back

                  Don't take us too seriously, if you need advise there's a lot of help available on the site but we also like a bit of banter and maybe a wind up   .   Many retired guys on the site, it gives us something to do away from the workshop.
       Anyone who can successfully strip and rebuild a GTR engine before joining this site , obviously has a very good engineering background, skills and previous experience. Nice job on the little Honda.

Nice looking Honda - that's the first bike I ever rode. It was my neighbors and we beat the ever loving daylights out of that thing. I recall a time or two trying to siphon gas out of the mower just so we could ride. A mouth full of gasoline at 11 years old is quite a memory. I can still taste it 37 years later.

Been there  done that   A few years back i got a Hodaka 250 Tunderdog   did,nt even know they made a 250.... i payed 35 bucks for it with a 2nd frame to boote.....  Took it all apart sandblasted the frame and woked my way back up...... Sold it for 1200 bucks.. in the l;ast 5 years i,ve fliped 35 bikes or so.....  lets see ya do updates on this new one    have fun....
