Southwest Weather Update
« on: July 05, 2014, 09:42:12 PM »
As many of you probably know, the Southwest has been under extreme drought conditions for the last couple of years. The monsoon season here in Arizona recently started and despite high dew points and a tropical moisture surge, we have seen little but 100 deg + days so far. The farm kid in me gets very twitchy when it does not rain (even from a desert point of view).
Today the heavens opened up and we got .7 inches of rain in a half an hour. Quite the downpour and enough to flood the washes and my back yard (a good thing from the mesquite trees perspective). My family and I sat on the back porch and enjoyed this precious event. While this is not enough to reverse the drought's grip, it certainly was a sight for these sore old eyes and a chance for me to worry about something else (if temporarily).
Best wishes to all!

This is the only weather related topic i could find to comment on - I didn't want to start a new thread just for this.

Yeah, looks like those in the Northeast should get a quick ride on their Bridgestone, might be a few days before the streets will be clear enough for the next ride.  ;)

It was actually warm enough here (Indy) to get take a 40 mile ride on my 350 just over a week ago.

I am just southwest of Philadelphia and fortunately we missed the big part of the storm. Seems every time the weather guys talk about the storm of the century and speak of snowfall in feet rather than inches, we get spared. Not sure how I actually feel about it, but the biggest part of me enjoys not shoveling snow. Not sure how you guys in Buffalo NY deal with it every year.

70 on a Sunday is definitely Bridgestone weather.

Beautiful scene if you don't have to be out in it! Stay warm.

Morning Steve,
Just took these pictures outside. Snow dogs in the morning. Ready for spring. Glad we do not have as much snow as you. We only have 5-6 inches

First thing I will be riding is the four wheeler W/snowplow when this junk quits. Haven't been able to train the snow dogs to handle a shovel.
Thanks Mike
