Barber Vintage Festival - Advice Needed From "Southern Gentlemen"

Transplanted Californian living in Vancouver going to Birmingham,AL area for the event mid October.I'm looking for decent clean cheap accomodation within reasonable range of event.Old guy travelling solo with NO bad habits.Any bonafide leads or advice sought from fellow Bridgestone enthusiasts.Figuring on six nights stay as I want to hit Huntsville (NASA) and Montgomery (Hank Sr.).Thanks for any input.Greg.
