Hello Everyone!

I am Steven, 30 years old , just bought my first motorcycle. My BS-175 is a restore waiting to happen. I purchased it last Friday for 450 in Plattsmouth. This bike looks like something that lived in an impound lot...and not the good part either. I am excited to get this thing running , but I have no knowledge and no one wants to touch this thing. I have some experience with auto mechanics and I hope that my strategies for repair will translate into this project. I would love to hear back from others with pointers as well as leads to people who have parts and the ability to work on a rotary. No one will even weld and paint my frame around here. There is a very real possibility that Omaha is NOT a cycle hot spot.

Glad to have you aboard, Matey! These bikes are less intimidating than they might first appear. Your mechanical skills will serve you well. Download and study the manual (in the manuals/articles section of the site). Ask questions if you are uncertain, before attempting. Richard, the site owner has most of the parts you'll need (see the Click Here For Parts link) and ebay is of course a good source. Good luck. Please keep us informed of progress and do not hesitate to seek help if you need it.

    Welcome aboard the good ship 'Bridgestone'.   The rotary valves are surprisingly simple, nothing high tech, just different. Omaha sounds like the North West of England, a restoration desert with a lack of reputable services available locally.  Good luck,   Brian the Brit.
