Old time BS owner
« on: December 02, 2012, 02:34:43 AM »
I flat tracked a 175 SR with an extended swing arm in '70-'71.
The bike was very competitive. I still have it.
In the back of my mind, I always wanted a GTR. It finally
Happened last month. I now have a 2600 mile garage queen.
What a great asset Richard's site is!

Lucky you!
Those are 2 great bikes to start a Bridgestone collection.

Gene,
I started a thread in 350 talk about my seat foam.
I really need a good usable foam, as I already have a new cover.
Any posibility you have one?
Also, maybe a chain guard?
Thanks,
Lonnie

Nice bike to restore. I'm sorry I can't help you with the foam. But someone on the site should be
able to steer you in the right direction.

Welcome to the group.

I'll get some pics of the SR in the next few days - the old bomb is in storage (along with 27
other bikes my wife may or may not know about)

Steve, by far the 350GTR is my favorite. After that the 70 Moto Guzzi 750 and then a BSA 250. My 83 Harley is probably next in line. Most of the current bikes I have were purchased for the value and though I like them all they are meant to be sold after restoration to continue my addictive hobby. I thought I would enjoy my 750 Honda more but it couldn't come close to another 65 CB450. I think I would become attached also to a brown F5 Bighorn. Of course if I ever find a replacement for my old 650 TR6, it will remain in my stable. Right now I'm just happy to have a few of the old bikes I used to ride. I'd like to hear about Skinny's other bikes

I have an Opal GT (was called a mini corvette) that used to handle pretty sweet. Had a dream about it this mornin. But, it's been sittin in a field for over 30 years. Not worth restorin. Too many projects anyway. I think we totally jacked this thread. Sorry Lonnie. I would like to hear about your 27 other bikes.
