For years the Oz dollar was worth 58-65 cents of the US dollar.
Also, for years the Canadian dollar was worth roughly 2/3 of the US dollar.
Both of those currencies are now valued higher than the US dollar.
As a matter of fact, they are worth virtually the same in terms of exchange rate.
I think the Aussie dollar is still positioned well relative to the US dollar.
It may have crept down a bit, but it is still strong compared to where it once was, which means your buying power with US goods is much higher than it was for a long time.

the au dropped about 8.5c overnight i hope you are right and that this trend will not continue and stay strong, i would absolutely dread it reverting back to the old ways of around 1/2 the us dollar it would be like buying from England eg. i bought a new pair of amal mk1 concentric s for bonnie they cost 220 pounds + shipping that came to over $500 au that's about half my weeks wages later i found out i could have bought them from steadfast cycles in the states for $300 au including shipping
