Did you call the state patrol dispatch they send a state patrol and do a vin verification and road worthieness verification and the vin gets u the title and the road test gets it so you can get it licensed its called a sheriffs title I had to do it for my 1969 tmx 100 I live in nd so it might be different down there but its worth a shot

Every state is different, some states don't even issue titles, and some states won't accept titles from some other states. If you are a Kansas resident you could get an antique title, the same goes for Arkansas. If you live in Missouri you have to go before a judge with a whole pile of paperwork and affidavits that prove you are and were the legal owner, which in layman's terms means it ain't gonna happen.

Your best bet is to simply check with your DMV and see if it is possible and what needs to be done. Failing that you could use a title service like Broadway Title. All it takes in any case is money, probably much more than the $300 you are talking about.
I have a tilt wheel for more headroom!

BS Friends

Titles are getting to be a big issue, many states will not issue titles for a motorcycle
that did not come with a title, some states still do.  Check with the BMV of your state.

You best bet is to get the title from the seller when you purchase the bike, keeping
in mind a bike with out a proper good title is worth much less money.

Some states did not issue titles for old bikes,  this is a big issue when you are trying
to take that said bike to a different state, most of the time this means the incoming
state will not issue a title.

Bottom line is you may never get a title, without spending a lot of  money through
title companies.
