100 TMX - Restore or Part Out - Engine Swap?
« on: September 14, 2011, 10:33:36 PM »
I've learned quite a bit in these forums already.

I recently picked up a '72 100 TMX.  I thought it would be a good grandpa/grandson restoration project.  I've restored a couple of Nortons and thought this thing would be an easy challenge.  The more I get in to it, the more pieces and parts I'll need. Piston is seized, there's a hole in the left side of the case, no seat, oil tank, etc., etc, etc.  I'll be making a decision soon whether to continue this project or part it out.  Maybe there are other alternatives.  Has anyone ever successfully fit another manufacturer's engine in one of these?  2-stroke or 4-stroke.
Thanks, Tom

Any parts you're looking for specifically?  I may be taking some photos of what looks useable.

Do you have the left side cover? It covers the battery if you use one!
