Title: bridgestone 200 points gap
Post by: mike1948 on November 26, 2022, 02:33:31 AM
Hi folks, I'm setting up my dynamo, and my service booklet doesn't advise what points gap setting to use.  What setting do all you people out there use?
I went to my local bearing shop for seals and O'rings for the rotary disc cover, appeared listed as 100mm/2mm, happy to supply what I wanted.  Interesting.  Either my cases are 98mm ore they  gave me a stretched pair.  I'm wary of ordering local, probably best to contact Richard Clark and get them sent to me.  More freight charges, but at least they should be right!

The point gap is .012-.016 in.  It's on page 35 of the 175 Technical Manual. You can use the variation to make fine adjustments to the timing once you get it close by rotating the alternator.

Thanks, Karl, I took a punt on 14thou, and will do what you say.
By the way, I have family in Greensburg, not too far away from you.  Nice area, nice people.

Cheers, Mike Crawley,
