Ain't sure about the oompa loompas as I never watched the whole movie but Momma don't allow such stuff as that. Besides oompa loopas might have somethin I don't want to catch.  :) Yeah, it gets lonely, been married 38 years. Here I am, there I go, turn the page.

Willy Wonkers factory
Huh?
Say what?

I'm not quite sure as to who Willy Wonkers is, but "c'est la vie".

Is the reference being applied to "Willy Wonka?"

He's back. Willy Wonker (not Wonkers as the s in this case is clearly used to denote ownership without having to use an apostrophe) should be easy to recognize as the Chocolate Factory man. Especially if you have added the hint "factory". But, to answer your question, yes , Harry was referring to Willy Wonka of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Your interest in correct spellin' and grammar seems to be a bit out of place from a guy who uses words like fantabulous. But,"that's life". ;D

anyone ever thought of black chroming the tank etc i think it would look great but not one for the purists and would cost 3x the $ of normal chrome

This topic touches on several previous topics over the years. First I want to restate my pleasure in the fact that our members do an absolutely fantastic job on these resto's. All the recent pics and entries @ members projects show a lot of commitment and ultimately satisfaction on the part of the members. Reeds and Richards GTR's and Steve and Mopars GTO's just to name a few really exemplify our groups tenacity. Good work by all on all of the members current endeavors. We were discussing the preference of our group toward all painted tank, all chrome, or original. Recent entries clearly show all three. I think the all chrome tank gives a sleeker, more low profile look as the top and bottom of the tank seem to sort of disappear. Gives it a longer, not as thick appearance. The all painted tank seems to do the opposite. Taller and shorter-fatter if you will, and the factory chr/paint seems to fit right in the middle. I realize that not everyone cares for every model. This goes back to personal preference and maybe getting the look that more closely fits the owners personality or maybe a feel for competition that he/she may be trying to emulate. I'm glad the manufacturers decided to add these faux racers to their lineups. It gave people a choice, and now gives us more to think about! (I have an old post around here somewhere that touches on the subject titled  "The history of dirt". Check it out, see if you agree or have anything to add). Thanks, Mark.
