Request for help, Especially GTO owners
« on: August 05, 2013, 07:00:06 PM »
 GTO owners,
Please have a look at the topic below on Cylinder Anti ring pins. There has been a long running thread/quest to establish the chronology and  types of Cylinders/heads used on the 350s. We are close to solving it but especially need your help.

It's a long thread so to save time - Please have a look to see if your GTO has an original cylinder with the anti-ring pins down through the fins and  let us know, whether it is yes or no..

This information should enable us to produce a definitive list which will help all existing owners and future restorers.
Many thanks,
Brian the Brit with much previous assistance from Moonpup.

I'm so glad I grew up in the 60s & 70s. I did so much stupid stuff and there's no record of it.............Anywhere !!

We're openin up a whole new can of worms now. Some people might have to change their cylinders just to have a correct restoration! ;D

I'd also noticed that Brian hasn't posted for quite a while, I've spoken to him regularly via email in the past but he's not contacted me for weeks so within the last week I've sent him two emails asking if he's alright but I've had no response, I fear the worst.

I know he's been busy with a building project at home and I've not heard from him for a few weeks either...but he did say that would probably be the case. I'm sure he'll return soon

Worries over, I received an email from Brian the other day and actually met the man today at the Stafford Classic Bike Show, the biggest classic bike show in Europe, anyway he's alive and well. :)

Got 2nd in 'Best 60s'.

That's great ziggy.... now all we need to do is send out a search party that Bikenstein fella. He seems to have fallen off the face of the earth!  (that or he's back to working 80 hr. weeks :o )

Back for a couple of days, Moonpup. Gotta pay for my clutch set, I see. Then back to another power plant. Lap top is busted and 7- 12's don't allow too much spare time. :( Later
