Title: New member in UK
Post by: 666jon on May 30, 2016, 12:52:20 PM
Hi Everyone,
Just got my bike today - needs a bit of work. I'm hoping to get it tidy and running well. I like to use my bikes rather than a make show winner. It's chassis no. 000284 and has recently been imported to the UK from the USA. It comes with the missing bits but I'm sure I'll be needing some parts when I start work. They are very rare in my part of the world, I see them at shows but it must be over 30 years ago since I heard one running and that memory has always stuck in the back of my mind.

Hi Jonathan,

Welcome to the forum, there are a small number of active U.K. owners here and probably the same again non active.

That's quite a restoration you have on your hands there but it's possible if you have time and money, a couple of links below to show what is possible.

Jonathon,

Welcome to the group.

Enjoy your project journey.

Be sure to take advantage of the site.  I have found
the Parts and Service Manuals as well as all the member's
knowledge are very helpful.

Nice bike, Good luck on the resto, I'm like you, functionality over beauty. Bikes are only original ONCE. After that, make them YOUR bike.

 Hi Jonathan,
Welcome to BS ownership (addiction?) and the site from another UK BS fan.  You'll soon get to know us, ask any questions you like, we are all here to help. That's a very low chassis number you've got there and  may have been built in the first month of GTR production June 1967.

Good luck, Brian. in the NW
