4 stroke bridgestone

Hello everyone. I have a 4 stroke Bridgestone bs 90. I was wondering if anybody else has one? How rare they are? What is your thoughts on the 4 stroke? Good, or bad? Also post pictures if you have any.

Could you post a picture of the original tank?  That might help someone recognize it.  I haven't been here long, but have never seen a four stroke Bridgestone.  Thanks, Steve

It's a 1970-72 Honda CL 100.

I thought it might be a Honda also, but the tag on the frame says Bridgestone bs 90. With the serial number on it.

It does look as far as i can determine on the pic ( the one with the tag on frame ) the 'rivets' look like they have slots in them for a screw driver. Maybe someone in the past was trying to pass the Honda off as a Bridgestone to the DMV for whatever reason(s)?......   bsforever

That is a possibility.  I just need to figure out the engine numbers and numbers by head stock. Everything I searched for Honda cl100 has really long numbers not close to any of these. This is pretty strange to me. My luck lol

I'm not a 90 expert, but it does not look like a frame typical of the 90/100's, so I'm thinking that the VIN transplant theory is correct.

          Ok, not a Bridgestone but you've still got a good runner from what you say.  I Googled  Honda 125 and found many similar looking bikes on the 'images' section but I accept Karls CL100 identification. .
       The frame plate looks like it's been there a long time and the HONDA logo's have been ground off the engine. That bike could tell a tale, maybe got stolen at some time and a cover up job done on it. Who knows?         Is there a BS90 running round with a Honda plate on it ?

OR...maybe Bridgestone was doing clandestine development for Honda and this one let's the cat out of the bag.    
Battery087, as Brian says get 'er tuned up and let 'er rip! 125 4 strokes have enough torque to pull really well off road. Have fun with it!

All the Bridgestone 90s I've seen have the serial number tag on the right side.  The tag in the photo is on the left.  Is it possible this is a "franken-bike", made from parts from many bikes?  Doesn't look stock to me, Steve

         The 'pup' becomes a 'mongrel' or maybe that's the guy who switched the frame plates.  .   I think we were all secretly hoping you had found a 4stroke Bridgestone, it's rumoured they were developing one but its never been proved.
      Interesting to hear (on the other thread) that BS were the US sales leaders for 90 bikes in the early 60s. We didn't get to hear of BS bikes until the mid 60s in the UK.

   If you really did want a Bridgestone, they are out there, just need to keep your eyes peeled on Ebay, Craigslist or the Classifieds on this site.      Brian

Thank you everyone for your help. It is much appreciated.  Here is what I came up with. It is a honda. I still like all of the Bridgestone models and will be on the hunt for one. Maybe I will even start a collection , but anyway the bike is a Honda that I believe was at one point stolen. The serial numbers on the head stock are on the right side and don't appear to mean anything. The 1970-1973 honda cb 100 is what this bike is. The serial numbers on these bikes are on the left side of the head stock. On this bike the left side of the head stock was at one point grinded down and is now all rusted. The Bridgestone badge was probably used so the bike can be registered through motor vehicle. I haven't figured out the numbers on the engine yet, if they are even correct. Both sides of the engine had the honda ground off of it. So I don't have a Bridgestone    . This bike runs and drives great , so I will probably just trail ride with it. It is not worth trying to restore. BTW I took most of this bike apart and compared to Google images and this bike is no doubt a cb 100. The only difference between a cl 100 and a cb 100 Becides years of production is the exhaust . The cl100 is a high rise exhaust and the cb100 is not. Weather or not the bike had any connection with Bridgestone will never be known ,but it is highly unlikely.  And with vin ground off I have no way to try and identify the bikes previous owner/up tain a title. Oh well I only paid 150. Again thank you everyone for the help ! I will stick around and try to find a Bridgestone of my own. I do like the Bridgestone bikes

Thanks for the update and sorry for the disappointment not being a Bridgestone, which was obvious to many members here on the site. Good luck for your search for a Bridgestone.... i am sure you would not make a mistake again like this one, but as slawsonb said previously... have fun with the Honda (trail biking )     .... bsforever

If the bike runs well, it was worth what you paid for it, just for a play bike. Little bikes like that are great fun if you have someplace to ride them.
