What's the Reason For the Dramatic Change?
« on: April 18, 2019, 01:55:47 PM »
I'm referring to the large drop off of the "Most Online" stat for each day that begins on April 3rd.  The 1st of April was 183 online and the 2nd. was 124 but after that, the highest number online has been 57, down to a low of 28.

The largest percentage of these numbers are usually the "Guests"....... so where have they gone?

I agree with Jeff regarding the login. But I like the login requirement.

It would be interesting to compare the activity of the Bridgestone facebook
group to this site.

Hands down this site is the best. Thank you Richard.

Yes there has been a noticeable decrease in contributors on this site. As mentioned below the log on requirement may be a reason.
Otherwise maybe the following:
1. Fewer Bikes available for restoration
2. Enthusiasts getting older
3. The cost of shipping to Australia and other non US destinations is deterring people from embarking on a restoration project (USPS prices are unbelievable)
4. Post 1980 Japanese bikes are now more popular in Australia as well as pre 1950 British and European bikes.
I might add that this site is invaluable and thank Richard Clark for maintaining and supporting it.

I must have missed the change that now requires "visitors" to sign up as members & log in before they can get a taste of what the site offers.

Will that be good for the site in the long run.... guess we'll just have to wait and see.   popcorn

This site gets referenced frequently on the FB sites. It's actually getting used as a useful tool to help us acquire members. Many like myself belong to both. They work very well together.

Let's just hope that this site continues if it wasn't here it would be a real bad loss.
Richards input and parts are without doubt priceless.
Richard Clarke and Mike Dunham have helped me immensely and l whole heartedly support them and this site l know if it suddenly stopped it would never be the same.

Some  of this sites members do not post any more, but they do on FB.  Many seem
to just want  to run their mouths, they must be thinking no one cares.  Many members here will know who I am talking about.  I wish these trouble makers, naysayers
and haters NEVER COME BACK. Its really a shame as this is a real site that has tons of free correct information in the Forums, Downloads and Galleries all at ones fingertips.  Many of these ex-members just act like little
girls always on the phones on FB, just typing away as they drive and live life.  Bottom  line is Richard provided this site for all, free of charge.  After all he still
as the largest inventory of parts and FB has no parts.  I know Richard does not need to sell BS parts so I hope he does not get tired of all
this crap.  I am not saying all FB folks are bad, just that some of those types of folks have moved from this great  site to the FB site, to join to OK people that are there. Jeff Bar.

Jeff - you you may need to unwind a bit. You sound tense and uptight.

I can't quantify it but it seems to me that some other sites, such as Do The Ton, also seem to have less traffic that they did a few years ago.
