Title: New to the world of Bridgestone
Post by: t0astm0nkey on June 27, 2010, 07:13:26 PM
Hello All,
My name is Jake, I recently acquired a Bridgetone MII SS from my girlfriends uncle, I asked one too many questions, then all of the sudden it was in my driveway.  after two weeks of basic cleaning, I have been able to get it running, however one cylinder will only fire when choked (I doubled up a piece of cloth and zip-tied it to the inlet of the carb)  I know it is a problem with the carb, because I swapped the carbs and all of the sudden only the other cylinder works.  The float appears to be set at the correct level, and I've cleaned the carb out pretty will with warm water and carb cleaner...
Any Ideas?  new carb maybe? what kind of carb is it mikuni vm-17?

Thanks,
Jacob

Hi Jake,

Sounds like you need to get in touch with Steve Reed. He is on this site and the resident expert on carbs for
Bridgestones etc. Send him a message on the site and I am sure he will be glad to help you. Enjoy your bike, they are wonderful. Good luck  and welcome.

Hi Jacob!

We are glad you are here! It sounds like you have a clogged jet or possibly a needle malfunction with your carb. I'm sure others will be along that know more than I do but it won't be too tough sorting that out. See ya around the site!
