Good job moonpup!  Now where can I get the tools?  Just kidding!  I see they come up every now and then on eBay.  They don't go cheap.  Thanks, mqtsteve

Thanks for all your efforts Moonpup in getting this organised...much appreciated! I have two toolbags but both are ripped, so I'll definitely be buying a couple. I'll keep a look out on ebay and on here as to when they are going on sale.

Thanks, Steve

Apparently the kit is missing the timing bolt and nut, but the bag is nice and all the other tools are marked appropriately... I think!  I am a Honda guy, of course...

Also have listed a BS dealer catalog

Speaking of tools, there a NOS 13 piece speciality tool kit & bag just listed on eBay. Don't see these too often!

I'm on the road, so don't have access to my Parts List. Are these for a 175/200? Guessing from the -8000 Part Number extention.
Thanks

That kit is also missing the pliers.  However, it is still a nice buy.

It looks like it is for the smaller bikes; there's a flywheel puller and other pieces for the small bikes. There is no clutch holder nor piston pin driver for the 175.  I suspect it is for 90/100 and smaller, or is missing some items.

BTW, bsaddict is Brian McDonough, a long-time Bridgestone supporter. He's a member on this site, but has never posted.

I visited Brian recently, he has few GTR parts but many other bits n pieces for the smaller machines.

He showed me a box half full of tool kits in original Bridgestone tool bags, again for the smaller machines.

Thanks Karl. Guess my search for a 350 tool kit continues (special tools). I suspect I am in competition with several others.

Karl, According to the diagram in the parts manual, the 21-26mm box end wrench is out of place also and should be a 19-21mm open end.

Also there are only 2 screwdriver bits shown in the manual as well.  The one on the far right of the pic appears to show a bit with a phillips head on one end and a flat head on the other. I picked up some missing tools recently from Gene and asked him about that one and he said he had none and didn't recall ever seeing one.

Does anyone know if that thing exists?  ???

EDIT: further research shows that this kit on eBay is for the 175 & 200 bikes, which explains why it isn't matching up with the 350 pic's. DOH! ;D  Would still like info on the double ended bit though.....

My 350 tool kit consists of several tools scavenged from the original (bag disintegrated) + some others I found, stuffed in a Yamaha bag.  ;D

My "new" tool bag along with the samples I sent TC finally arrived back home to Texas today, so I thought I'd give y'all a final review now that it's in my hands.

I'll start first with the workmanship and you'll find no complaints here. The overall size, the quality of the seams and the snaps are all spot on.  ;D

However, the purist/perfectionist in me demands that I point out the differences from the original. The color is not an exact match to the samples I sent. Of course I have no idea how true the colors are on these 40 year old bags, so it's close enough for me.

As mentioned before, the texture of the vinyl isn't even close, but I really wasn't expecting him to be able to find an exact match.... just hoping.

And for my last bit of pickyness, the logo is about a 1/4" higher up the flap.  ::)

In conclusion..... I'll probably get another one from TC as a backup!  ;D

Good job moonpup!  It looks great.  The logo position is close.  I would bet the original bags logo vary from the factory.  Do you know how much they will cost?  Thanks, Steve

Really does look great Moonpup. Thinking about this somemore, there was probably a process step in the production of the original material in which an embossing drum is rolled over the bulk material as it was fed from roll to roll. May have even been some heating of the drum involved. Really hard to reproduce as the drum tool would cost big bucks. :o

....snip.... Do you know how much they will cost?  Thanks, Steve

Steve, I sent TC an email yesterday after receiving the tool bag thanking him for taking on this project and inquiring as to when he’d start listing them on eBay and if he had any ideas on the price. This morning I received this reply.....

Thanks for giving me this opportunity to handle this project. I already have this bag ready for sale and I can send invoice via paypal. It will be a while before they are available on ebay. Price of this bag is $45. Airmail provided free.”

I was hoping the price would end up a little lower, but what do I know.  I guess the market will decide if the price is right or not. I’m just happy they’re available.

Thanks moonpup!  Kind of expensive!  You can get them with tools for around the same price.  That's almost as much as the seat covers (for 90's).  Thanks for getting it done.  I bet he will adjust the price at some time.  Thanks Steve
