The book is called The doctors step-by-step guide to optimizing your ignition by C A.Jacobs,PH.,D E.E.
I got the book to look in to changing the Ignition on my Porsche 911 and that lead me to MSD ignition.
That works better than the Bosch, i can not scan pages 55-56 its not coming up as a good picture your i
Would.

I think every Clymer or Chilton M/C manual had something very similar to this. On all of my old Brit bikes, they were always carbon fouled. Used to drive me nuts...

On the old British bikes you are not far from the truth .
With carbon fouled plugs i had better luck with NGK plugs.
On my British motorcycles.
