Hi Lance
The baffles did have wadding on them when they were new, and after 500 miles you took the wadding off as part of your first service.
It was a way to help bed the engine in or slow the engine down for the first 500 miles.
Thanks.
Reed.

I probably should have mentioned that all the major Japanese manufactures did it this way on their two-stroke engines.
Thanks,
Reed

Lance
I ran mine on 140 main jets and it ran all right so do a plug check and let us know.
If it run a little rich then you can think about the mains at 130 plug check first.
Thanks
Reed.

Hi Luke
I think in Alaska you are above sea level so a decrease main jet one step would work for you!
So 130 mains would be about right for you are you running 130 mains! i would like to know
For when i jet carbs for Alaska i have done two sets up to now.
Thanks.
Reed.

i did  a plug chop last week and mixture looked ok,but ive been setting the timing and reading some of the service sheets in one of my manuals and it says to set ignition 2 degrees before timing mark and fit 130 main jets and put needles on second groove for best performance.  not sure if ive remembered everything as ive not got the sheets with me im at work.
