Reed, My '67 GTR did not have any side reflectors.  It was a stock bike except for the sissy bar, there is a flick of that bike in my gallery.  I was surprised to find them on the '70 GTO that I am working on.  I just took them off of the headlamp when I was reassembling it this afternoon.  I think that the bike looks better with them off.  I will take the other two reflectors off of the mufflers when I reinstall the mufflers.
regards charlie

Reflectors
After talking to a few people i came to.the conclusion that the reflectors were a optional extra.
I will put a set on mine you can get them from Richard for 15.00 plus shipping a great deal that front and back!
Thanks.

Reed,I wonder if the reflectors were a result of changes in the U.S. @'67 to the D.O.T. regulations? I know at some point they were a requirement on cars along with dual master cylinders and brake system warning lights, etc. These reg.s were often allowed to be a year behind on imports due to the manufacturing and shipping schedules. Just a thought.  Mark.

I think Rocketman is correct at some point DOT/NHTSA required the reflectors. The same reason later motorcycles had brake light switches  on the front brakes.

Hi Reed : I thought I would chime in after reading this thread, my 1971 350 GTR has both the front  Amber reflectors , and rear Red reflectors. I  acquired this gem from the original owner who said "it is in stock form as he ordered it in 1971 " yet the code on the lens is " SAE B68 OEW R309 . Did BridgeStone use reflectors from 1968 ( if B68 means that date ) on newer bikes , or never changed the code on the lens ?  Thnks Randy

I think Mark was right at some point in the USA the Bridgestone required reflectors and never change the code on the lens etc.
The Bridgestone 350 GTR i saw were from the UK and had reflectors on so maybe its different requirements for the UK.
Anyway i am putting them on mine.
Thanks.
Reed.

I think you will all want to use them if you can. They don't look obtrusive, and if your riding you need all the help you can get for the sake of safety. Now days you are not only competing with cars and trucks for space on the road, but with cell phones and texting/reading devices too!  Mark.
