another gtr on e-bay
« on: September 12, 2010, 06:13:10 PM »
Hi All,

In case you have not noticed, there is another gtr on e-bay. Looks like it would be good to restore. Take a look we need more being built instead of setting in barns.

Were those crashbars a factory accessory? I have a bike with them as well.

Again, just for reference.....

"I have a very rare 1968 Bridgestone 350 GTR motorcycle for your consideration.  I bought it at the estate sale of the original owner.  I have the appropriate paper work.  It is complete except for five things as far as I can tell.  I do not have the key, clutch cover, carburetor cover, one grab handle from the back, and one plastic side cover.  The motor is free and not locked up!  It features a 6-speed transmission.  This is perfect for a restoration or make a ton parting it out.  I could not part it out as it is rare and I have no time to restore it.  The bike has just over 8000 original miles on it!  That is for real mileage.  It rolls freely.  Seat is not torn and the tires hold air.  It was stored in a barn.  The cables are not frozen."

Thanks for the e-dress.
I was surprised to find that my 350 GTO has a front mud flap, I noticed one on this GTR.  That must be an add on item like the crash bars.  On the parts list only the GTO has a mudflap.
Thanks again for the info.
regards charlie

Another BLUE one. Has anyone ever seen a green GTR?

Paul,

Blue GTR's seem to pop-up every so often either for sale or in pic's on the web, but I'm not so sure we'll ever see a green one. I don't think that color was available for the GTR's.

The only official hint at a green Bridgestone 350 that I've ever seen, was the color "Sequoia Green" listed as an option for the GTO's on the back of one of the factory brochures and even then, there were no pictures of it in the brochure. I can't find a pic of one anywhere on the web either.

But I'm like you...... I sure would like to see one!  ;D

No offense Scrambler, but I was hoping for something in better condition and with a little more documentation.  ;D

Again, since I've seen no official documentation that the GTR was available in green, at best this tank originally came off a GTO and then somehow over the years it ends up on this bike.

Anybody out there with first hand knowledge or documentation that might be able to shed a little light on these "Mysterious Green Phantoms" ?

Crash bars
Those crash bars look like they would make you crash! maybe that why we call them crash bars.
Thanks.

No offense taken. I agree it was a bit rough. They didn't seem to mind at the scrap yard though...

Re: another gtr on e-bay/COLORS
« Reply #17 on: September 15, 2010, 05:00:14 PM »
Paul,I can't find any color designation for blue or green on the GTO or GTR up to '71. Flamboyant (candy)Red was a shared color from the 175's. Fl.Bead Gold, Fl.Gold, and Pearl White shared with the 200's. Flamboyant Blue seems a bit darker than the bike pictured, and is a 200 color. Flamboyant Green and  Tangerine for the two tones are listed as 200 colors. Anyone purchase a 350 new with any alternate colors? Thanks,Mark.
