dynamo prob

 hi all i have a 1966 bs 175 project .everything on this bike is butcherd .the points and condencers look like they have been attacked with a hammer .i have a spare motor ,everything appears to be fine but i think its off a later model . the origonal dynamo's condencors are above points and spare dynamo's condencors are towards the side . can i simply fit the spare dynamo as it appears that the wirering is the same . cheers .coxy.

You can not interchange the two generators as the older one runs at half speed of the newer one

thanks for that i thought there would be a problem this is not going to be a easy restoration .not only its butcherd but its been sitting for 35years in queansland (australia) high humidity and is a rust bucket
