Stanchion lifting tool

Description: Each time I lifted up one of the forks to the top yoke it slipped down again, with no special tool to lift it up I used a clean paint brush with a tapered handle.

I screwed the wooden handle into the stanchion creating a thread on the paint brush handle just enough to take the weight.

I then pulled up the stanchion as far as possible and nipped the bolt on the lower yoke and removed the paint brush. This gave me a number of threads to screw the top yoke bolt into and tighten and fully lift the stanchion home.

The fork cover guides fitted here were actually upside down, this has now been rectified.

Ziggy, I used the rear axle to lift the inner tube in place of the special tool on my 90. Don't know if the same works on the 350. Thanks for posting all the photos with good descriptions very informative. mqtsteve
