hi guys!. finnally managed to get on the forum.
« on: September 19, 2009, 12:40:42 AM »
back in 1991 i aquired my first real bike from an old guys barn via my dad seeing it and asking him about it when we were there on some other bussiness.

he told my dad that he could have it but it hadnt been started in over 20 years. she was a very dusty bridgestone 90 trail.

we cleaned the tank of major rust and changed fluids etc. she fired up first kick.

sadly i lost her due to complete wasted years teenage ignorance and a patch of loose gravel on the road. i flipped her once and she landed and broke im pieces. totaled. :'(

i never forgot this bike for her unique feel and sound and my memorys with her. a totally "unique" feeling and riding bike.  :D

anyways. i have a cpl questions now. why cant i find another one?. are they that rare? and what is the selling price for fixer uppers and mint? and lastly. what color code or shade of blue was that on the trail 90?.

i have a honda ct70 im building now with a larger engine and want this wonderful blue again. thanks for youre time!.

Welcome to the site, The stone world is pretty small, but we all love stones.

The paint question is a good one the blue is about the same color as used on 67 Chevy Novas. just go to
a auto paint store and they will have a nice selection of paint chips

thanks for the reply.   :)

the prob with that is the pics off the pc even if i print them out are a different shade than this wonderful paint that was on the stone.

i want to get it the exact same color. if not for this bike then for the next im going to find soon which will be another b+s90 trail or mountain and i want it exactly like they came from the factory and my 90 i lost.

can anyone tell me exactly what color it was? i dont know why im having so much trouble finding this factory color... ive tried all month with no luck. :-X anyways...thought id try. no one anywhere else knew either sadly.

Good paint supply stores have a tool that they put to the paint and it tells them as near as computer technology will allow, to get a match on the paint. Of course it will probably be custom blended, but to get it right, who cares. The hard part is finding an area that has no fading and can give an accurate reading of the paint when they place their machine on the paint. I am sure there are some over the counter color blends that are very close, but still the machine they use, may help finding that really close or exact color that will help them get the right color for you. Good luck, the right shades just makes it looks so right.

I am going to look at what may be a 90 trail tonight. Found it through word of mouth and am 1st in line (that I know of). Unaware of condition mechanically... Picture looks descent.
