Title: Oil Pump lines-GTR
Post by: Kenneth Pagel on May 15, 2021, 03:16:52 PM
It seems that the oil feed line to the RH cylinder banjo fitting(as viewed when sitting on the bike) is quite long, and would form a considerable loopback on itself to attach to the banjo . Is this meant to be trimmed to have a smaller loop to the banjo? I recently purchased these NOS lines off flea bay, and both measure 13-1/2 inches. Thanks in advance!

     Kenneth,
See Section 15 of the Engine assembly instructions in the manual, page 21 in mine.

Left side oil line length 13.4''
      Right side line             14.6''

Looks like you may have two left side oil lines but I am not sure how critical the stated lengths are. Trial fit the right side line, as long as the 'loop back' is not too tight and liable to kink, it should be fine. Right side oil line goes to the rear (inner) connection on the pump but this is not critical, either outlet connection can be used.

When I replaced mine, I just cut to length with one end installed.
