Title: 1970 Dual Twin Oil
Post by: Bennigans on April 08, 2015, 09:04:02 PM
Hello, a 1970 dual twin just came into my possession and I'm not sure where to put oil in for the transmission. If anybody could tell me where that would be very helpful, a picture would be even better!

If it is like my 66 175 dt HS it is above the right side foot peg or above the kick start lever on the top edge of the crankcase. I was going to grab a photo but I had to tuck it away for the night and don't have much access to that side.  I will zoom in on an existing picture.  You can see in the center of the photo under the exhaust the turn knob cap.  Unscrew it to check/add oil.  I drained mine and put in fresh 10w30 for testing the bike.  See the manuals section for information.  There is also a parts manual you can reference.

You should download a copy of the Service Manual.
You can find them on this site. They are free.
