We have a couple of bushfires here at the moment - I hope my Bridgestones don't get burnt.

Saw that on the national news tonight. They even said y'all added a new color to the weather maps.... "purple" for areas reaching temperatures of 130 degrees and above. Ouch!

Stay safe.

Coxy did suggest that I install a sprinkler system. By 'freshies' I assume you mean Crocs. Luckily they are only found in Northern Australia and are known as 'salties'.  We live in a Southern State. You are right, the Rural Fire Service (RFS) certainly is well organised.

I suggest that you make fire lines around your place.

You are correct there are freshwater crocs, but they are also only found in Northern Oz. They are much smaller and no where as dangerous as saltwater crocs which can grow to 6 Metres. The biggest worry here are Eastern Brown snakes (2nd most venomous snake in Oz)
Cheers

Seems like the biggest worries are the fires right now. I'm glad no deaths have been reported. I know the fires are common this time of the year, but the videos look pretty extreme. Hope they get things under control there. Take care

I looked at pictures of the wildfires down there and decided that changing occupations from a wildland firefighter back to a mechanic was a good decision.
