Hi Mr. Jones,

The side stand on my GTR measures 9" from the bolt centre to the foot.

Best Regards,
Mike

thanks for that mike, yes it seems the frame bracket must be bent as it leans over way too much for my liking!

If it has oversize tires, it will do that.  I have a 1" rubber block bolted to the foot on my 200RS to make it stand up correctly.

It looks like your front tire is a Kenda Challenger 357?  Size 100/90-19?  What tire do you have on the rear?  if both are same on your bike, then same as what came on my GTR that.  These 100/90-19's make the bike stand higher in the air and are actually a lot closer to 3.50 if not a 3.75 than what came on the GTR's from the factory; 3.25-19.  That and the tread design is totally out of context contrasted with the appearance of a 3.25 ribbed front and a more universal sort of block tread 3.25 rear from 60's era Bridgestone's fitted from the factory.  For me, the 357 very much detracts for the GTR's appearance.

I've looked around quite a bit for a ribbed 3.25 front and block 3.25 rear that are made by the same manufacturer and the closest thing i have found are Duro's HF314 and HF-317 tires.  The HF317 does a good job of looking the part for a ribbed tire, but the 314 tread is that of a Dunlop K81 which wasn't available when the '67-'68 GTR's were leaving the factory.  Nonetheless, the Duro's would not only look a lot better but would also lower the GTR closed to the ground.  The only thing that keeps me from by a set of 3.25 Duro's is that then i'd have the Kenda's wasting away.

The Kenda's on my GTR are nearly new and have no appreciable wear...  If anyone would like to buy my Kenda's for $100 post paid let me know.  attached is pic of my GTR with the 100/90-19 Kenda's.  if you closely look at the fit of the tires in the factory ad and compare that fit to the Kenda's on my GTR you can readily notice the Kenda's are a taller tire and i would suspect also a wider tire.  The front Kenda really fills out the fender compared to that seen in the factory ad...

Just as a reference to see if your bracket is bent, my kickstand is 57° from horizontal.
