Well that's odd.

This GTR was just sold on eBay for $2,850 :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-350-GTR-/361382817156?forcerrptr=true&hash=item5424182d84&item=361382817156

Shipped to the buyer for $524:

http://www.uship.com/shipment/Bridgestone-350-GTR/275984111/

And now with an investment of $3374 he's listing it on CL for $2,500. What am I missing?

Upon further review, despite the fact that the eBay buyer and the CL seller are one and the same, the bike may not be. The seat logo's are different in the pic's.

Maybe he's got 2 GTR's and is selling the one he already had on CL and keeping the "new" eBay bike.

Oh well, still looks like a nice bike....

Part of the description in the original eBay listing states: "Has some scratches and fading of paint, seat is in great shape one small blemish as seen in pics."

So now maybe we're back to it being the same bike with a new seat cover and one pissed off "missus"!  ;D

     Does seem odd.
Maybe not quite as good as original photos suggested, so swapped out some of the better parts and tidied it up for resale. Must be prepared to take a hit on the price.  Be a great start for a resto for someone.

Could have 2 bikes and maybe using same set of pictures for the listing? Just a thought.

dcr, he does mention in the CL ad: "The bike has a new old stock seat cover" (PitReplica me thinks)

So I think it is the eBay bike and he spent $100 more on a seat cover, which now brings his total investment up to $3,474.

Edit: It's a shame he didn't get the correct seat cover for that year GTR.....

I agree it is the same bike that was recently sold on ebay.
It has had a few different parts installed, seat and clutch
side cover.

There has to be a good reason for investing $3474 in a bike and then trying to sell it for $2500.

Maybe he's an accountant for Enron?

The seller "jwsdreammachines" is a member here, so maybe he'll see this and give us the lowdown. (or maybe not)

I hope he realizes we're just a curious bunch with nothing better to do.  :o

Either way, may the auction go well for him and may he at least be able to recoup his investment....  8)

Subject to checking it over, seems reasonable price for what you are getting from photos and a runner (certainly UK side of the pond). Motor sounds more rattly than normal, clutch?
It's an early one (July 67).    Vin no. does look to start with 21'5' on the plate photo but should be an 'S'. (Graham, this number 01441 extends your list for July 67.)
I would go have a look, if it were closer (about 3000miles or more :(:D.

If it were closer to me, I would definitely check this out with legitimate interest in buying it.

And yes Moonpup, we certainly are the curious bunch.

My 21S01306 got titled when I moved it from Florida to Indiana as 21'5'01306. Guess the DMVs don't recognize Ss or didn't back in the day. ;D
