175 Throttle Cable Routing

Cranked my 1966 HS for the first time today and took a short ride and discovered every time I made a turn the motor revved-up due to the throttle cable being pulled. Came back and removed the seat and tank and had a long look trying figure out what the proper routing might be. I'm stumped. Before I take everything loose to reroute I was hoping someone might have a picture or some information.

My cable is just sitting beside the coil, not on top.  Are you handlebars the correct ones, or could they be a bit wider, which would make cable shorter?

It has stock HS handle bars.

For your info to double check your cables;
The throttle cable on my HS is on top of the coils like yours.
The front brake inner cable is 48 inches (not including the clip that connects to the brake arm).
The top part of the throttle cable as shown in the image is 21.375.  I didn't measure the rest as I assume both the DT and HS are the same there.

HS and DT throttle cables are different lengths. The HS requires the longer one to eliminate the turn rev.

I also had trouble routing the throttle cable and found the junction box had to be aligned with the three cables. Sometimes it twists around causing the  actual throttle cable to tighten.

Sorry, Ray, yes, inches.  Even with so many members on here from countries using the metric system, it's still hard to remember we're still on this antiquated system. 

I've complained to the local chain hardware store owner about having so many choices in inch-sized hardware and more restricted choices in metric. Probably 80% of the time, when I go looking for nuts, bolts, washers, etc., I need metric. To make it worse, they charge about 40% for metric sized item than inch sized.

Thanks for your reply Karl. We still have hardware stores here that find it difficult to let go of Imperial measurements.  The outdoor and plumbing fittings are still mostly in the old measurements. Luckily there is a company in Canberra called Specialty Fasteners https://www.google.com/search?q=specialty+fasteners+fyshwick&oq=specialty&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j69i57j0l2.12576j0j8&client=tablet-android-samsung&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 who have most Metric fasteners.
Weird because Australia changed to metric in 1970-72.
