Thanks for the photo's Gene. It's not every day we see the SR's.
I would not be surprised if the chain guard was from the factory for the smaller bikes. Probably did not want to see a kid get caught up in the chain.
Let us know how the resto goes.
-
Chain guard looks like the one on my SR175
-
Hi Gene,
Just a note from Mike Anderson. My SR100 looks to never have had a chain guard. It is original as raced and I cannot find any evidence of a guard. Also if you need a seat cover, I had two made when I had the seat for mine recovered. I assume they are the same, it looks just like mine. I cannot tell from your picture if the cover has any damage. Let me know if I can be of any help.

Gene, there is an old photo in the gallery of a SR100 from back in the day. It has who I believe is "Richards" father on it?????
The bike appears all original and has a chain guard on it, so I assume yours is original also.
Nice find, all of the SR's are currently bringing a bundle of $$$$$

Congrats Gene.
I recommend you talk to Larry.
He may be able to help.

-
Looking good!
-
Yes, my seat has the Bridgestone logo on the back. I also believe the sales literature you saw for the sr100 has a sr90 in the photo. Look closely at it's carb area. I have the same literature.
Thanks Mike
-
Hi Gene, All the SR100 literature I've seen actually pictures an SR90. The SR90 was a souped up version of the 90 non oil injected motor, so it uses all the same external components. Air cleaner assy was for SR90. SR100 is all its own. Brake pedal appears modified. Chain guard is for SR90, not 100. But you can add it, they were available at the dealer-so was the air cleaner and pipe , etc. if you wanted to make your own racer. Great find . Mark.
-
Sorry, Richard should have your footrest return springs, etc. if you havn't already located them. mark.
-
Gene, check your P.M. I have been studying your pics and have some details for you. Thanks, Mark.

Hey Mike I Sent THe Seat To The Guy Who Reapostered My Other 2 SR Seats He Only Charged Me 50.00 Dollars And It Came Back On THe Frame All Blasted & Painted I Made Some Bridgestone Stensels For The Back We Paint Them On With White Vinal Paint But You Have To Pul Off The Stensel When Wet Or It Flakes Looks Great I Sold A 100 SR To A Guy And The Seat Was Bad So Ill SEE If He Wants It Im Always Looking To Buy More SR So Ill Keep It In Mind THanks GENE
-
Rocketman I Have A 100 SR The Front Fender On It Was Stainless And Resembles A 100 TMX Fender The Guy I Bought It From Said It Came With A Steel Gray Painted Fender The Chain Gard On It Was The Exact Same Chain Gard As Is On My 90 Trail So I Put A 90 Trail Front Fender On It If I Could See A Picture Of One On A Bridgestone Flyer I Might Know I Think They Put What Ever They Had & No 2 Are Same Look At The Brake Pedel On The First Photos That Is Not Modified The Welds Are Factory Original I Never Saw A Pedel Like It Until Now Ill Call Ya My # Is Thanks GENE
-
Check out the brochures on the SR Photos in the gallery. I posted two SR ads there. The bike being ridden is a SR90. Its a blurred pic nearly to the point of double negative where the bike is concerned. The seat looks @ 4" thick. The fender looks to be like a trail, but its not. If you look at the SR100 ad, the fender is mounted correctly up top and you can see the side cover detail of the 90 engine, not a 100. I guess they didn't see the need to change the pic, even thought the bikes engine changed pretty dramatically. Lots of other detail visible , like the skid plate. Mark.
-
Mark Do You Belive A 100 Had A Staneless Fender Or Painted Fender GENE

Thanks for the Van-Tech pics, Gene. Talk about rare. For those wondering, Van Tech produced these tube frames to replace press frame and others for competition. You just ordered the frame and mounting package for your desired powerplant. Very cool. Mark.
-
Mike check your p.m. Thanks, Mark.
