I haven't tried that regulator/rectifier, but it looks like it would be  good one to try.

The GN250 replacement I mentioned in my previous post has worked well all summer, although that's only about 600 miles use.

I'm using this rectifier as well.  I believe I got it back in the radio shack days but it is working.
