I also have a Taka 100, a Honda GL-1000, a Honda SL-125, a Yamaha 60 (my first motorcycle), and a Yamaha 125 twin scrambler.  All of these are bikes I wanted in my youth.  Would still like to have a Suzuki 125 twin scrambler and a Chibi.

BS Friends

Great Topic:" What other M/C do you own"

My riders and interest is. BMW R100/GS Bumble Bee,  Suzuki RG500 Gamma, Yamaha TDR 250, BMW 60/2 along with my Bridgestone 350 GTR.
Live in Southern Indiana along the Ohio River, this area is full of twisty little roads, that make great riding!  Visit Western North Carolina in the Deals Gap area
(The Dragon) when ever I can!

Mostly I enjoy twisting wrenches in my shop.
Business has taken me away from motorcycling in the past, now looking forward to more time at home, getting back into  Bridgestones.
I am thinking about racing the Baja 500 one more time......Still have my last race bike that I ran Baja in 1990, ATK406

In the market for a Moto-Guzzi Falcone

Just a Kawasaki KDX175, Suzuki 125 4 stroke dual sport for the kids to ride and an old Yamaha Blaster 4-wheeler.  I had a Yamaha FJR1300 until last year. I sold it to my daughter as my strength has declined with age and I was afraid I'd drop it just moving it around the shop.  She wanted it BADLY anyway.

I have my '68 350GTR (44,000 miles) that I bought used in 1974 and a '71 200RS survivor with 6800 miles that I bought a few years ago, both licensed and insured.

A bit long, but here goes!

’65 Bridgestone 90, purchased July 1966, spent about $1.25 on wrist pin and bushing to repair.  Traded at Starks Honda, Prairie DuChein WI I in March 1967

’67 Honda 305 Super Hawk, purchased in March 1967, Stark’s

Bridgestone 350 GTR in Sept. 1968.  Still have the 350l  I restored it in 2011.  It has been licensed since 1968.

Bridgestone 90 Sport, about a 1969 model.  Bought cheap with scored aluminum cylinder.  Too good to pass up!  Replaced damaged cylinder with a much cheaper cast iron cylinder, used as dirt bike, sold  sometime in 1969?

‘70 Bridgestone 100 TMX.  Dirt/street bike.  Kept till 1971 or 1972, sold for ISU tuition.

‘72 Honda CB750 Super Sport Purchased in March from Starks Honda, Prairie Duchein WI.  They still had more inventory in liquor than motorcycles!  Added a Nimbus sidecar when son was born, sold after we bought 1975 Honda GL1000.  Still have the sidecar.

‘66 Honda S90.  Purchased ½ with Howard to trail ride while at ISU.  I don’t think we ever had the time to use it, and it always had carb issues due to “Improvements” by former owner.  Bought out Howard’s ½ and sold in about 1978  or so.

‘75 Honda Gold Wing, GL1000.  Purchased a demonstrator from Don’s Honda in Newton after stopping for a test ride on return from vacation while riding the Honda CB750.  By contrast to the 750, the GL1000 was an electric motor.  Fast and silent.

‘88 Kawasaki ZG1000 Concours.  Purchased in 1990, with two matching red full coverage helmets.  A fast, light sport bike compared to the GL1000, although not as smooth or quiet.  Big luggage, generous for two people.

About a ‘67 Honda CB160, blue with blue seat.  Purchased in about 1980 while looking for a CB305, too good to pass up!

About ‘68 Honda CL305 Scrambler.  Purchased in about 1983 while looking for a CB305, too good to pass up!

About ‘65 Honda CA305 Dream.  Purchased in about 1983 while looking for a CB305, too good to pass up!

‘70 Honda CB350.  Purchased in about 1986 while looking for a bike for kids to ride.  Too good to pass up!

‘86 Kawasaki 250 Ninja.  Purchased in about 1996 while looking for a bike for kids to ride.  Proved useful, as both son and daughter learned to ride on this bike.  Very mixed emotions watching each kid leave home on their first solo ride.

‘71 Honda CB100.  Purchased at auction of Chase Honda used inventory in Cedar Rapids.  Too good to pass up!

’70? Honda Z50 Monkey bike.  Bought looking for something for Grandkids to ride!  Great learners bike, 3 speed auto clutch.  Taught four grandkids so far!  Will probably make 5 next summer.

‘71 Honda SL70.  Bought from Tom Parker, a friend of son's.  Worked on several times while Tom owned it, purchased after it suffered a transmission failure. Too good to pass up!

‘94 Honda GL1200 Gold Wing.    Bought used, with “All the shine gone”  Very much enjoy owning a bike that never needs washing or polishing!

‘98 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster.  Bought used, “to see what a Harley Davidson is like”  Answer:  Harley doesn’t think the same way the Japanese do!  Nice bike but very different design language!

‘94? Honda 250 Nighthawk.  Bought as an advanced learner’s bike after eldest grandkid passed MC drivers license test, my own trail riding course, and expressed interest in street riding.  (Anyway, I’ve always wanted a small displacement   twin!)  Plus, Too good to pass up!  (Are you noticing a common theme here?)

‘65 Bridgestone 90.  Found while looking for a Bridgestone TMX, too good to pass up!  Very original, fair condition.  A carbon copy of my first motorcycle.  Mildly restored and a pleasure to ride.

‘18 Honda GL1800 Gold Wing.  “Almost perfect”.  Needs to be at least 200 lb. lighter, fix the clutch rattle at idle, more efficient use of luggage space, easier to work on, less body work, and the list goes on.  Probably not the last in my search for the “Perfect” motorcycle!

About 30% of a 1978 Honda GL1000, purchased in around 1980 from a MC junkyard formerly operating in Cedar Rapids.  Once again, Too good to pass up!

Motor from 70’s Honda CB125.  No Carb, not sure how or when this wandered into my possession?  Too good to pass up?

Despite being a rational guy (I believe) every once in a while I see a bike and think ' Wow, I've got to have it' whether I can afford it or not!!
Happened 3 times, first was in 1965, a 250 Aermacchi, Ala Verde in red and white, European, cafe racer version of the HD Sprint to our US friends. Still got it.
Second was the Bridgestone GTR in 1969, now got 2 plus a GTO.
More recently, I spotted a machine across a showroom floor that looked like my image of the perfect retro bike, didn't know what it was. Turned out to be a Kawasaki W800, 2016 Final Edition, (until the next version) in Jaffa cake colours. Now sits in my garage.
Just last weekend at the Stafford classic bike show, UK, I saw a Kawasaki Z400 from the late 70s.  Hmmmm, unfortunately I've got nowhere to put it but I'm tempted. Behave yourself you're getting too old.
Steve, if you fancy a Laverda Jota, go for it, you only live once, they are out there.                              Brian.

Unspoiled by progress.
I'm so glad I grew up in the 60s & 70s. I did so much stupid stuff and there's no record of it.............Anywhere !!
