newly developed powder coating process
« on: March 27, 2011, 08:32:01 PM »
Hi All,
I just posted a picture of Steve Reed's swing arm and center stand in my gallery. Steve had trouble posting them do to his internet service so I did it for him. The parts come out very smooth with the new powder coating process. People in the restoration mode might want to contact him for some good info on this new process and where to get it done.

So, what is "new" about this process?.
Could you go into detail about what is different?

Steve

Steve
Jeremy is the man that does all my frames and he is at a show this weekend.
So he promised me next week he would write about the coating process etc!
But what i can tell you is when i get a frame for powder coating i have it
Blasted first and i check over the frame and i do a weld inspection and
See if the frame is straight,on my Bridgestone frame someone
Had welded a flat bar across the down tubes to strengthen the frame
And a bad weld at that, so when i took of the bar it made a mess on the
Down tubes so Jeremy puts this new type of Bond and very carefully
Sand it down  the down tubes prior to the power coating process.
and all i can say check out the pictures there are no weld marks on the
Down tubes and a very professional finish and i very pleased with results
considering the frame is 44 years old.
Thanks.
Reed.
PS i am not the best on a computer i am a hands on mechanic not on paper etc.
