60 Sport smoker update
« on: July 28, 2014, 06:13:11 PM »
Well it's been a year since I did anything to the bike. Just too many projects! After the oil slobbering out the muffler joint, I decided to tear into the right side to have a look see at the right crank seal. It seems to be ok, but I'm going to replace it and some other seals and o-rings anyway. When looking at the crank seal you can see the spring band that tightens the seal to the crank. Is this installed the correct way? The bike only has 1600 miles. TIA Jim

Poppaweelee, oil seal on the valve cover/ crankshaft should have a spring on both sides.  The double spring keeps the engine oil and transmission oil separate.  Hope this helps, Steve
