Just finished running the fresh bike with the real unbaffled original set of expansion chambers. Quite a different sound from the nice chrome, baffled set of Kataro's. Enjoy the sound. Ear plugs required for extended time and riding. This is on you-tube

Those sound good.

Those are what is needed to pull over in front of a Harley with loud pipes and show them what REAL loud pipes sound like.   :D

Hard to believe we raced bikes with a whole pit area and race track full of open expansion chambers on two-strokes and straight pipes on 4-strokes and were left with any hearing at all.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, Karl - the good old days when your ears were ringing all day Monday and most of Tuesday after a weekend of racing.

Yeh,
My wife was standing there while it was running and not a bit happy with the noise.. Sounds a lot like my vintage kart with a pair of McCullochs on the back and chambers. Brings back a lot of fond memories. I used these chambers on my bike back in the day whenever someone fast wanted to race. Can't wait to hear the little sr-100 running. Won't be as loud but should still sound sweet.

You haven't heard music unless you've heard these two strokes warming up with open chambers. I can recall standing right behind TD,TZ, and TA yamahas. No ear plugs. Can't hear you now.

We'd take our first child to the races when she was just a few weeks old - she could sleep in the back seat of the car in the pits with all that racket going on. Must have been music to her ears, too...

There's nothing like the cackling of a two stroke running expansion chambers.  Between that and the smell of the burning two-stroke oil I feel like I'm back in my teens.  I like the looks of those pipes too.

You won't see the front end of that truck parked behind the GTR getting rusty anytime soon.  :o
I'm thinking those pipes on my bike (once running) would probably require a special convening of the Homeowners Association with an outcome not in my favor.

I love the sound, but I bet your neighbors are already sick of it!

How does this set of chambers compare to the factory mods set of chambers? Size of cones ect?

I am interested then, how is the bike to ride off the pipe? Does it have much torque?

What's your plans, run these pipes just for a laugh on the street?

I have ridden them back in the day with these pipes and they are fine. A little more torque sensitive but still nice to ride other than loud. I don't ride anything on the street much today, crazy drivers. I am getting ready to put the stock pipes on this bike as a finished product. Just used to two sets of expansion chambers to give those who have not heard to different sounds a chance to hear them. This bike will then go up for sale on the site, I have another in the wings waiting to be built.
Thanks Mike
