clutch housing removal?

Having some troubles pulling off the clutch housing. Tried using a puller but it seems to be locked onto the shaft. Wondering if the housing pulls off over the threaded splines (as shown in picture)or am I missing something? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Once you have removed the ring nut and locking washer it should pull off, your photo shows the ring nut still there.

I would think a puller or jacking screws would have no problem drawing it off.

Sometimes they're stuck or a little tight the first time they're taken off.  As Ziggy says, use jackscrews or a 3-armed puller.

Thank you for the input. I thought I took the 40mm ring nut off but maybe not. Previous picture doesn't show to well but ill post another. Showing (a bit too the left) is what I thought was the ring nut, now does the piece with the outer threaded splines come off prior to pulling or should the housing pull straight off over the threaded splines

You have the ring nut removed. To get it started, try using the 3 tapped holes in the basket with 6mm case screws. The screws will jack against the case behind the basket. Go slowly and only tighten each screw a small amount working your way around from screw to screw. If the torque required seems excessive, STOP. Cranking too much can damage the case. You will be left with marks on the case regardless. Just don't want to crack it. Also be sure the basket is moving off the shaft without binding (cocking).

Harbor Freight sells a decent 3 arm puller for 13 bucks, nice item to have in your shop.

Oh yeah, meant to mention, when using your puller, try taping the puller center shaft with a small hammer once the puller is tight. Sometimes that little impact will be just enough to get things moving.

Thanks for all the input evening helps. So I can't seem to find a good example in the parts or service manual. When pulling the  housing off, does the part with notched threads pull off with it. Or does the housing pull off around it?

Housing pulls off around it. Looks on page 18 of the 350 parts manual (available in the manuals section of the site). You are pulling 2412-9000 (clutch housing) off of 2411-9000 (driven gear). The threaded spline is on the driven gear on the face away from the view. The driven gear is behind the right crank case cover (2161-9000) on page 15.

In the pic from Z posted by Moonpup the right crank case cover and the driven gear are removed leaving the counter shaft (2421-9000) that is in the center of the clutch.

Thanks for all the input everyone really helped out alot. with a little modification to my puller finally got her all pulled apart
