Spark Plug Type
« on: July 07, 2011, 03:42:51 PM »
So, after 3 trips to the store, One honda shop, general store, and Autozone No one can find me the right Spark plug match for the NGK B-7 or B-8
Its for a 60cc sp
Any Ideas on a new number that I could use for NGK?
Seems that if its not in a book or on there comp.  They dont know how to do the comparison test.

Thank you
Shaun

I just ordered an assortment of plugs for my BS90, Yamaha YJ1, and various Hondas.  Napa was willing to order all of them, and they came in the next day.  I'm running a B7HS in the 90.  I had an original B7 in my hands, so were able to match it up.

NGK changed their plug nomenclature a few years back to better deal with the modern style plugs that might have different electrode types, such as longer/shorter reaches etc..  The H is the thread reach, and the S is a normal center electrode.  Here is a chart:

Hope that helps,

Chris H.

As an alternative, try a boat store. I had dificulty finding the short reach B7S plugs for my BS50 Sport from motorcycl dealers. I discovered that soem outboard motors still use those plugs, and my locla small boat supplier had B7S plugs on the shelf.

I live in the UK, but I'm sure the same trick would apply Stateside.
