My Dad was a Jeweler and Watchmaker. The reason for this was he lost his left leg in WW2. At any rate, I never was attracted to jewelry or any other bling (especially diamonds). So consequently, I don't see why everything has to be shiny and polished to the point of "bling xtreme" to be labeled "nice". I like the dull grey look where it is appropriate. Where it belongs. I polish parts that were once shiny and a few that weren't but I truly like all the different shades and textures of an original engine and other components of a bike. It has nothing to do with the value of havin an "original 10 point restoration" or monetary value at all, Then again maybe it does. Maybe the reason an originally restored bike is more valuable is because more of the people that pay the money like the original finishes as I do. I like the look of the before carb. Nice polishin work though.
