Steve, I'm with moonpup, I think you're remembering the differences in the 175 alternators, there were 2 basic alternator configurations with 3 points configurations, one of which was the same points as the Z1.  I believe the 350 did also take the Z1 points, but there was only that one configuration for the 350 as far as I know.

The 175 points after 16L are the same part number as the 350's.   A1ss and A2ss (Kawasaki Samurai and Avenger) 1966-1971 used the same type generator. The Z1 as well as 34 other Kawasaki models used interchangeable points. Exactly which points interchange with Bridgestones, I don't know but I do have several different Kawasaki points sets that I can compare when I get the time. ;D

From Scott Noga's site:

175, 200, 350 ignition points interchange with Kawasaki A-1 and A-7, which all use Kokusan Denki alternators (EN-06, EN-09, EN-11)

Kawasaki KZ1000 ignition parts reportedly also fit the 175-350:  Points, 21008-27, 21008-28; Condenser, 21013-035; Felt Brush, 21019-005.

Other info related to the Z1/KZ900/KZ100:

The fuel petcock from a 1975 Kawasaki Z1B (51023-055) is a close match to the 175/200 & 350.  An similar alternative is a Kawasaki Z900A4 (51023-1021).

An alternative petcock source is Harley Davidson up to about 1995.  Drag Specialties (makes aftermarket Harley parts) Part Number DS-390-218 (L-style petcock replacement for OEM part 62166-81.  This petcock is smaller than the BS stock part and is chromed so it makes a nice appearance. One difference is that it has one fuel outlet instead of two, so you have to use a "T" or "Y" connection to split the flow to two carbs.

The 21008-027 left and 21008-028 right are also found on 1973- 83 KZ400, KZ550, KZ650, and KZ900Z1. So points should be available for awhile ;D I have these in stock and will check them later today to confirm the fit.

Since you have a Z1 handy, do the Kawasaki's points really interchange with the BS 350?

I checked the the Kawasaki 21008 points and they are the same as the Bridgestone (as I already knew but you got me wonderin for a bit :)). The following Kawasakis use them. 73 Z1900, 74 Z1A 900, 75 Z1P, 75 Z1B, 76 KZ900 A4, C2, and B1, 77 KZ1000A1, 77KZ900 A5, 77 KZ650 B1, 77 KZ1000 B1, 77 KZ650 C1, 78 KZ1000 C1A, A2A, B2, C1, and A2 as well as (tired of typin ;D) 16 others including the 250 Samurai(great bike), the 350 Avenger (another great bike)and KZ400's. NOS prices on ebay vary and are generally as high are higher than nos Bridgestone label from Richard (plus shippin). But, I occasionally have found them (very rarely) for 5 or 10 bucks and snapped em up for my GTR.

Karl,
My main interest as always been the GTR or GTO engines and done a few rebuilds but some time ago i saw a different set of points in
A GTR, i am used to working with Kawasaki type points, but it was not a 175 or 200, and today i have looked at all dynamo or alternators
That i have and they are all  the same  part number 1738-8000 and 1739-8000 and are the same as the Kawasaki points and so i guess
This will be for another posts, when i come across that dynamo or alternator with the different points then i will post pictures etc.
The only problem it might have on a scrap engine that had been in water but i will get to the bottom of this.
Thanks.
Steve.

I apologize for the gross thread jacking, but as always the wealth of knowledge on this site is nothing short of amazing.  I appreciate the diversion from the topic at hand.

Kawasaki Z1900.
The Kawasaki is done and going back to the owner tomorrow .
He is going to run the Kawasaki with the old exhausts on for
Now, then later on we can put on four into four pipes etc
And a oil change plus a set of tires.
I try ed to do a video but it would not work on my computer.
So with a bit of luck when the motorcycle comes back to me
For exhausts i will try again.
Thanks.
Steve.

Kawasaki Z1900.
Well the Kawasaki has gone today, the motorcycle has not been ridden for 33 years by the owner.
So he went around the block with a big smile on his face.
Thanks.
