Got some tires in the other day from Scrambler cycle.
I like the tread pattern on the tire etc.it will make a
Good around tire, and i will put some on my other GTR.

On the Bridgestone 200 i put a 300x18 on the front and 350 x18 on the rear.
The bigger tires look better on the motor cycle and i must say i like these

Hey Kevin,

I'll let you know. I've run the Bridgestone BT39ss 2.50-18's for awhile now but they are prone to rear flats due to the tube chaffing on the ribbing inside the sidewalls. The Heidenau looks similar in profile but the tread is different and they are a bit taller than the BS tire. They do feel pretty soft and I've heard good reviews so far.

I always use baby powder on the  inside of the tire before i fitted the tube and it will cut the chaffing down.

What model Heidenau tires are these?  I am looking for a good street tire for my 175HS.

Hey Steve,

as do I use baby powder on the tubes but mainly for avoiding pinching the tube on installation. The problem I was experiencing was the tube material being exposed to too much heat generated from racing conditions. The tubes would become thin and fatigue where they would chafe on the ribbing on the inside of the carcass between the tire and the rim. I believe the heat transferred caused a breakdown in the tube material that led to fatigue resulting loss of integrity.

I'm currently running Heidenau K40R 2.50x18 on the front and a Heidenau K45R 2.75x18 on the rear. These are race compound and I don't know how they would handle on the street. Heidenau has some Vintage tires that are similar sizes. I don't really know anything about these as I've never had any. http://heidenautires.com/vintage-motorcycle-tires/

p.s. I have used the K45R's on the rear for a few years and have been happy with them. I put the K40R on the front for Barber last year and felt I could push the Bridgestone BT39SS 2.50x18 harder.
