my new 67 gtr 350!!!
« on: August 25, 2014, 02:44:19 PM »
Just bought my first gtr 350. Was sitting in a garage for the last 30 years and fired up for the first time 2 weeks ago.  Starts first kick and sounds great with 10,456 original miles. Super excited, picked it up for only 900 from the original owners brother. Came with owners manual and original sales brochure. Not very experienced in vintage 2 strokes(expecially rotary valves) so posting here to get some knowledge and tips from the Bridgestone community. Let me know what you guys think and any advice for a restore

Hey Nate, welcome to the BS brotherhood. Is this the one that was in Albuquerque? Being from AZ, I was considering. Hope you enjoy it. Doesn't look like it will take much to make it really nice. You'll find plenty of help and good folks here.

That's a cheap admission price for fun!

It's better to leave the oil injector working. The oil is injected into the outer main bearings, collected in a ring attached to the crankshaft and run through the bottom end rod bearings by a cross-drilled hole. In my opinion, it is better at lubing the bottom end than premix since the bottom ends of the rods are not slotted.
