Title: swingarm lateral play
Post by: johnrkeele on February 06, 2023, 12:20:02 AM
On the low miles (less than 1000 mi on odometer) Mk2RS I'm working on, I'm surprised to find noticeable swingarm lateral movement/looseness. I noticed it after removing the wheel and shocks. Haven't measured, but I estimate toward 1/16" movement at the wheel/axle location. The swingarm pivot bolt looks fine, but the bushings are not tight to it. This is the first Bridgestone I've spent any time with...What are other's experience/thoughts on it?

I've found I don't have a problem. I reinstalled the swingarm, and with the pivot bolt tightened to the point just before the swingarm will not swing freely, there's no play. Apparently, the pivot bolt wasn't tightened enough when I noticed the looseness; the play was between the frame and the swingarm; the bushes are fine.

Thanks for the heads-up. When it warms up, I will pull mine apart and check it out.
