HI All, New to the Stone scene. I picked up a 64 that is a real basket case. Being the kind of person I am, I intend to rescue this bike. I have it completely disassembled and started to find parts. One thing I did not have was the ignition key. I read thru the posts and emailed Key Man and he could not help me soooooo, I took it upon myself to make my own key. to do this I had to disassemble the ignition switch to get at the key core. Here is what took place.
1st photo, I match marked the back of the switch and the top.
2nd photo, I bent the 4 dimples out that hold everything together. I started with a screwdriver, but noticed that I was breaking off little pieces of the brown plastic back, so I moved to a small wire cutter.
3rd photo, I used a flat blade screwdriver to GENTLY pry the back off. Move around the back cover and pry it up evenly. If it gives you trouble, bend the dimples out a little more. If the dimples are out, the back should come off very easy.
